The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) invites participants, sponsors and exhibitors to its ICAO Global Civil Aviation Search and Rescue (SAR) Forum that will take place in Abu Dhabi from 21-22 June 2010 at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel.
The Forum was developed jointly by ICAO and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of UAE in realization that civil aviation search and rescue (SAR) requires the close cooperation of many participating entities and to fill recently identified gaps in SAR service provision that compromise global effectiveness.
Prestigious speakers from many sectors of the aviation industry and key international, regional, and local organizations will be presenting at the event. Sessions will comprise short presentations and encourage maximum interaction between speakers, panels and the wider audience with the intention of generating findings that may be carried forward through the ICAO process toward global implementation. All proceedings will be conducted in English.
This important event comes at a critical time. A number of organizational and procedural issues of worldwide concern require early resolution and it is important that the widest possible consultation precede decisions about their management. The Forum will offer networking opportunities with high-level government officials and aviation safety professionals.
