Following requests made during the RSOO side-bar meeting held at the last Assembly, the Symposium on Regional Safety Oversight Organizations (RSOOs) was held at the ICAO Headquarters in Montréal - Canada, from 26 to 28 October 2011.
The purpose of the Symposium was to bring together all parties that have a stake in the establishment and management of RSOOs (including the COSCAPs), in order to, as mandated by the
Assembly Resolution A37-8, promote the concept of regional cooperation for the purpose of enhancing safety oversight in the regions. The proposed themes cover such areas as the ICAO’s existing Policy and Framework for Regional Cooperation and the challenges facing RSOOs.
