ICAO continues to develop guidance material to further support States and stakeholders address aviation security in civil aviation and implement their obligations related to ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices.
More information on guidance material published by ICAO can be found in this section. The ICAO Aviation Security Manual (Doc 8973 – Restricted) is the main guidance produced by the Aviation Security Policy Section to assist States. Guidance material is also produced arising from current priorities and needs of Member States, and are usually incorporated in a future edition of Doc 8973, while noting that some guidance material is produced on an ad-hoc basis and remain available as standalone documents, e.g. COVID-19 Risk Assessment Checklist.
