As a follow-up from the first ICAO Meeting on Air Cargo Development in Africa held in August 2014 in Lomé, Togo, and the first ICAO Meeting on the Sustainable Development of Air Transport in Africa held in March 2015 in Antananarivo, Madagascar, the Secretariat developed an on-line secure portal in 2015 designed to assist States in the region to monitor and implement the Declaration on the Development of Air Cargo in Africa, and the Declaration on the Sustainable Development of Air Transport in Africa adopted by the two meetings, respectively. In 2016 the Secretariat continued to update the secure portal — State Air Transport Action Plan System (SATAPS) — and initiated preparation for organizing follow-up events to be held in 2017.
