Evaluation and Internal Audit Office
During 2018, EAO completed internal audits on procurement for technical cooperation projects, the Aviation Security Audits (ASA) Section, the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Regional Office, the Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Office and Regional Sub-Office, recruitment of ICAO staff, and ex post facto payments. It also completed an evaluation report of ICAO’s Standard-setting process. Furthermore, eight reports by the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) were presented to the Council, along with the corresponding action plans proposed by the Secretariat. Subjects covered included: donor-led assessments of UN system organizations; knowledge management; review of air travel policies; safety and security; and state of the internal audit function.
