Join us in exploring the Journey to Achieving Effective Safety Management at the ICAO Regional Safety Management Symposium for the North American, Central American and Caribbean & South American Regions, which will be convened at the ICAO South American Regional Office in Lima, Peru, from 13 to 16 March 2018.
The symposium, co-hosted by the General Directorate for Civil Aviation of Peru, will provide a unique information-sharing opportunity for aviation professionals involved in safety management activities.
The main objectives of the symposium are to:
| Provide participants with insights on how to: |
effectively implement the State safety programme (SSP), including to develop action plans for implementation in the regions; and |
| conduct oversight of its service providers’ safety management systems (SMS). |
| Provide a forum for participants to share information on: |
the overall benefits of safety management and how safety management can contribute to the future air transportation system; and |
| the current challenges in safety management faced by the international aviation community. |
As part of the symposium, a workshop will be provided from 15 to 16 March 2018. The workshop will focus on the more practical aspects of safety management.
