Operational Safety (OPS) Section   

The Operational Safety Section (OPS) is responsible for the development of Standards, Recommended Practices, Procedures and guidance material related to the operation, certification and airworthiness of aircraft including instrument procedures design, the licensing and training of personnel and the safe transport of dangerous goods by air.

In addition, the Section is responsible for the Flight Safety and Human Factors Programme, the Controlled Flight into Terrain Programme, the Aviation Training Programme and activities related to the implementation and operation of a Safety Management System in Contracting States and ICAO and the safety aspects of air transport globalization and Aviation Security.
