ICAO and McGill University once again collaborated to host a Conference. It was held at the The Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel (across the street from ICAO Headquarters in Montréal), and it preceded the ICAO 36th General Assembly (18 to 28 September 2007).
This Conference brought together industry, governmental, scientific, legal, financial, and academic experts from around the world to address some of the most critical issues facing civil aviation in these times. Panels addressed contemporary, cutting-edge issues in aviation technology, law and policy surrounding security, safety, and sustainable development, and attempted to plot a course forward.
Civil aviation faces enormous challenges. Concerns about safety, security and the environment relentlessly plague air transportation. Uncertainty surrounds insurance coverage and potential liability, government regulation and taxation. These developments impact airlines and all industries that rely on aviation – airports, aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, labour, and tourism.
Who Should Attend:
Professionals from civil aviation authorities and transport ministries, airlines, airports, air traffic services providers, aviation security providers as well as personnel of organizations directly involved in supporting the aviation business such as air cargo operators, insurers, risk managers, manufacturers, law and consulting firms, and international and regional organizations.
To enter the Hilton Montréal Bonaventure Hotel (situated at 900 De La Gauchetiere Ouest), please use the main entrance, situated at the corner of De La Gauchetiere and Mansfield streets (Mansfield is parallel to University and a block away from University). Once at the entrance, the guest elevators will bring you to the lobby level of the Hotel. In the lobby there will be signs to direct you to the banquet floor level which is one level below the lobby and accessed by an escalator. Once there you will see the registration desk for the Conference.
For those registering on-site or finalizing their registration please note that cash, major credit cards (Visa, Master Card and American Express) and money orders will be accepted.
REGISTRATION will occur both at the UAE Reception at ICAO Headquarters (999 University St) on Friday night (18:00-20:00 hours) as well as at the HILTON on Saturday and Sunday.
