WELCOME
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) once again be partnered with The World Bank and for the first time, UBM Aviation, to organize an aviation strategy summit, renamed the "World Route Development Strategy Summit" – a single, powerful, global, aviation leader's summit. This Summit, co-located again with Routes which is now a subsidiary of UBM Aviation, combined elements from previous ICAO/World Bank/Routes fora namely the Global Aviation Strategic Summit ( GASS ), with those traditionally held solely by Routes – ACED1 ,TAS2 and Air Cargo Conferences. Global route development and aviation stakeholders at large, benefited from high-level discussions concerning the current state of the aviation sector, in particular, the most significant challenges facing the route development industry.
Discussions in the morning of day one focused on international issues that impact the entire aviation sector. This was followed by an afternoon of streamed sessions focusing on Route Development, Air Cargo and Travel & Tourism, respectively.
Day two was dedicated to critical issues that challenge the future of the industry. These included safety, security, environmental and fuel price volatility issues, the impact of delayed aircraft deliveries and how airports are viewed as economic catalysts.
The Summit was held at the International Congress Center, ICC, Hall 7 (entrance to the hall Berlin/hall Europa), Messe Berlin.
