ICAO convened a Regional Aviation Security Conference on the Implementation of the ICAO Declaration on Aviation Security in Africa at the ICAO Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal on 17 and 18 October 2011. The main objective of this conference was to review present and planned aviation security activities since the conclusion of the ICAO Assembly. These activities were considered in light of the Abuja Joint Declaration on Civil Aviation Security (April 2010).
Delegations were led at the Director General level to facilitate discussions on implementation matters. Presentations were made by internationally recognized aviation security specialists from States, ICAO and international organizations.
