States’ Action Plans
Status Update
To date, 102 Member States, representing more than 90 per cent of global international air traffic have prepared and submitted action plans to ICAO, demonstrating the high level of interest and engagement of Member States in this initiative. Among these States, 41 have provided an update to their initial submission.
This achievement is a direct result of the continuous support provided by the ICAO Secretariat to the States-designated Focal Points, including through the provision of tools and support to States such as the delivery of training to six States in September. Since last year, six States have been involved in the ICAO Action Plan Buddy Programme, in line with the Assembly Resolution “Consolidated statement of continuing ICAO policies and practices related to environmental protection — Climate change” (A38-18, Operative clause 13 and A39-2, Operative clause 12). The Buddy programme invites States that have already submitted their action plan to ICAO to build partnerships with other Member States in order to support those States that have not yet prepared action plans.
