Corporate performance management
ICAO made great strides in the realm of Corporate Performance Management in 2016. After much deliberation a three-tiered approach to measuring performance was established. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are measures taken to determine the achievement of desired results.
The KPIs are delineated along three distinct levels. The first, or highest, level are the corporate KPIs chosen by the Council, and specifically designed to meet defined criteria. The second level of KPIs are at the key outcome level; these are at a Strategic Objective and supporting strategy level and linked to the expected result of each Strategic Objective and supporting strategy as denoted in the Business Plan. The third set of KPIs are at the deliverable level. Deliverable KPIs are at project/key activity level and measure the most immediate results of the work activities, products or services delivered.
The Secretariat is developing a Corporate Performance Management Framework Tool (CPMFT), a web-based tool designed to monitor progress in achieving expected results by reporting on the following components:
• Corporate KPIs
• Key Outcomes
• KPIs
• Projects/Key Activities
• Deliverables
• Risks
