Separation of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) from ICAO
Following the legal and administrative separation of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) from ICAO, which became effective on 31 August 2020, the President of ECAC, by letter dated 19 July 2021, sought the termination of the Memorandum of Understanding between ICAO and ECAC for cooperation on Safety Oversight Audits and related matters, signed on 26 May 1999, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding between ICAO and ECAC regarding Aviation Security Audits and related matters, signed on 27 September 2004. By letter dated 29 October 2021, the President of the Council agreed for ICAO to terminate the above-mentioned MOUs.
