The Thirty-Ninth meeting of the Language Proficiency Requirements Implementation Task Force (LPRI TF/39) was held jointly with EASA, via teleconference from 8 to 10 November 2021.
The LPRI TF is actually the only dedicated ICAO structure addressing the Language Proficiency Requirements. The meeting started with updates from ICAO, the Task Force Secretariat and EASA. Participating States and Organizations presented their respective activities concerning the Language Proficiency Requirements (LPRs) Implementation, including the impact of COVID 19 pandemic.
Sharing of experiences and best practices among TF members on virtual training and exploring the possibilities and challenges of virtual testing were amongst the main issues raised by from the members during the meeting. The meeting also was presented with updates from sub-group on Regulatory, Implementation/Support to States and Harmonization and Tools including on the latest updates on the new guidance document for which the meeting approved the name and the content.
The meeting was attended by 75 participants from 31 States and 8 international organizations.
The next meeting will be held in Paris EUR/NAT Office, 24-25 May 2022 in a hybrid mode.
