The Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX)* Multi-beneficiary Workshop on Aviation Security Culture was organized by the European Commission in co-operation with the Civil Aviation Agency of North Macedonia and with the contribution of the ICAO EUR/NAT Office. The workshop was held on 28 September 2021.
The aim of the workshop was to provide advice and guidance on the practical implementation of effective security culture and exchange on best practices.
ICAO EUR/NAT Office contributed to the workshop by sharing information on the global perspective with regards to the ICAO Year of Security Culture (YOSC) in 2021 and provide information on the tools developed by ICAO to support States in building robust Security Culture. The participants were informed on the benefits and key principles of an effective security culture, ICAO resources, guidance and promotional material, best practices as well as articles available on the ICAO YOSC global (https://www.icao.int/Security/Security-Culture/Pages/YOSC-2021.aspx) and regional websites (https://www.icao.int/EURNAT/Pages/EURNAT-Security-Culture-website.aspx).
The workshop was attended by 50 participants from the Western Balkans and Turkey.
