From global plan to local benefits
This event will be a unique opportunity to discuss and identify the available technologies for a region and/or State, as well as the regulatory adaptations needed at the global, national or regional level.
End-to-end concepts will be showcased from the aircraft to the ground systems. The event will assist participants to define their own State master plans and begin to define benefit to cost ratios of the ASBU modules already in the planning for implementation. An industry exhibit will provide additional interactive opportunities.
Intended Outcomes
- Provide, through demonstrations and operational presentations, for a better understanding of the level of industrialization and implementation readiness of ASBU Block 1 related techniques, as well as of the level of support that States, regions and stakeholders would need to fast track implementation of Block 0 and 1 modules.
- Showcase the progress that SESAR, NexGen and other modernization programmes have made towards harmonization on critical topics. Inform States about the benefits harmonization could yield, and on how the benefits could help them meet their own specific objectives, through sharing of lessons learnt and best practices with respect to infrastructure investments and avionics equipage.
- Provide participants with information and guidelines related to the definition of the plans governing their investment programmes (master plans).
- Inform participants on the different partnership models which have proven successful and have provided good incentives, and how they have had a strong impact on implementation and aviation performance. Provide information on some key elements of the future “Business View” (e.g., macro-economic benefits for States in modernizing air traffic management (ATM) and related key challenges and solutions).
- Identify areas where coordination and enhanced organization in the implementation of ASBU modules would be needed.
- Increase the awareness of States, regulators, airspace users and air navigation service providers of the links between the ICAO documentation, work programme and Global Air Navigation Plan.
