Workforce and skills are some of the most pressing challenges in the aviation sector. The United Kingdom Department for Transport, Airports Council International, the International Air Transport Association and the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Association are joining forces in building a more skilled and diverse workforce, unleashing the sector’s full economic potential.
Participants of the ICAO Global Aviation Gender Summit are welcome to also sign up for a special breakfast workshop on
Thursday 6 July 2023 (07:15 am - 08:30 am CEST).
This workshop aims to bring together likeminded representatives from states, industry and industry associations. This session will be an interactive discussion to explore skills challenges and solutions. The workshop will also help to set the priorities for a new taskforce that will shape the future of aviation skills development by bringing together best practices and drawing on successful skills development programs. The taskforce will look at challenges faced including outreach to young people, diversity and equality, upskilling for new and expanding technologies and other areas of change impacting the sector, including climate change. It intends to contribute further to the work of ICAO in the longer term as we prepare for the next General Assembly. Results from the workshop will be presented back at the end of the summit and will be used to shape the work of the taskforce.
Breakfast will be offered during the session. You can register for the breakfast workshop
here. Please note you will need to be signed up to attend the Global Aviation Gender Summit to attend the workshop.
There will be limited spots available, so access is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
