ICAO, ATAG and the World Bank were pleased to sponsor a second event, following the successful joint workshop of June 2005.
The Development Forum addressed issues impacting safe, efficient and regular air services from a regional as well as global perspective.
The objectives of the Forum were to promote air transport as an economic catalyst and to highlight the application of ICAO's methodological guidelines to evaluate civil aviation's contribution at the levels of national and regional/local economies. It also identified constraints to the sustainable development of air tranpsort, and the necessary remedial actions with a regional approach for developing economics, while describing the role of ICAO, ATAG and the World Bank in air transport development.
The meeting was be conducted in English.
