Given time constraints during the Assembly, Member States are strongly encouraged to submit a written statement in advance rather than delivering an oral presentation. The advantage to Member States of written statements submitted in advance of the opening is that these will be translated if received by 20 August 2013 and accessible online by all delegates whereas oral statements are not.
Written statements by delegations to be presented under Agenda Item 8 should be submitted to the Assembly and Council Support Unit (
Assembly38-WP@icao.int) before the opening of the session so that they may be posted online.
Exceptionally, for oral presentations if so wished, arrangements should be made with the Assembly and Council Support Unit (
Assembly38-WP@icao.int), who should be notified at least ten calendar days in advance of a State’s intention to make an oral presentation. Oral presentations should focus on agenda items or topics related to the main subjects of discussion within the Organization and should be no longer than five minutes.
