Diplomatic Conference to Adopt a Mobile Equipment Convention and an Aircraft Protocol
Cape Town, 29 October to 16 November 2001
The Council of ICAO, at the Eleventh meeting of its 162nd Session in March 2001, decided to convene a Diplomatic Conference in Cape Town from 29 October to 16 November 2001, under the auspices of ICAO and UNIDROIT at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of South Africa, with a view to adopting proposed new treaty law. The proposed instruments are a draft Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and a draft Protocol thereto on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment, as well as a Consolidated Text, setting forth a merger of the two texts.
