Overview
This workshop consists of:
- Basics of PBN instrument flight procedure (IFP) design;
- Operational factors to consider in the PBN IFP design;
Objectives
After this training, the participants are able to:
- Clear about PBN instrument flight procedure (IFP) concepts;
- Obtain the operational and new flight technique concepts such as CCO/CDO etc.
- Ability to do basic calculation as required by PBN IFP design
- Learn about latest criteria about charting and coding for PBN procedure
Participants concerned
This workshop is mainly for the new/potential procedure designers and air traffic controllers.
The workshop is also available to other relevant personnel such as regulators of CAA, pilots, AIS and airports personnel.
Prerequisites
Attendees feel comfortable to communicate in English.
Tuition fees
- Free for Active and User Member States;
- $200 per person per day for Non-Member States;
Content
APAC FPP found statistically that most of member states are willing to select suitable staff working as flight procedure designers, especially from their existing group of air traffic controllers. This workshop is intended to develop air traffic controllers' interest in IFP design and to provide knowledge for potential designers prior to the formal flight procedure design trainings.
The training is organized around courses, exercises and assessments to apply all the design criteria addressing PBN and conventional procedures. The pillars of this training include a case study published procedures.
Focus
- Instrument flight procedure basic concepts;
- Turn protection areas construction and merging methods;
- Limitation elements of different segments;
- Publication (coding & charting);
- Operational and new flight technique concepts such as CCO/CDO etc.;
- Airspace design concept;
Theoretical courses
2 days' workshop are online.
Presentations and explanation of the rules and principles described in Doc 8168-OPS/611.
Exercises
NO exercises in this workshop.
