The Forty-Fourth Meeting of the Data Management Group (DMG/44) of the Meteorology Group (METG) was held at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office in Paris from March 18 to 20, 2025. This meeting brought together experts and representatives from Algeria (attending virtually), Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Romania, Spain, the Russian Federation (attending virtually), the United Kingdom, and ICAO Secretariat to discuss key and recent developments in operational meteorological data management and implementation:

Participants reviewed the latest updates from ICAO, EASPG, PCG, METG, VOLCEX, and PT/EAST, along with reports from global groups like WG-MIE, WG-MOG/SADIS, IMP, and METP.
Outcomes of METP/6 and ICAO Annex 3 Updates:
A key focus was the results of the ICAO Meteorology Panel's sixth meeting (METP/6), which took place from March 3 to 7, 2025. Discussions covered a large range of subjects such as : advancements in global MET data exchange; new requirements for aviation meteorological services; and further implementation of ICAO data management provisions.
The DMG/44 meeting also addressed the METP/6 decisions regarding updates to ICAO Annex 3, including meteorological data availability, exchange, and system-wide information management (SWIM).
The meeting concluded with discussions on future developments, follow-up actions, and scheduling of upcoming meetings:

DMG/46 - virtual meeting planned for November 2025
The DMG/44 meeting reaffirmed the commitment of ICAO and participating States to enhancing meteorological data exchange and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of aviation meteorology services across the EUR/NAT region.
