The 4th meeting of the European Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG) took place in the premises of the ICAO Regional Office in Paris from 29 November to 1 December 2022. The meeting, which was opened by Mr. Nicolas Rallo, ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Director, reviewed the regional work programme in the areas of aviation safety, air navigation and environment.
A new chair team was elected for 4 years: Mr. Levan Karanadze (Georgia) as the new EASPG Chairperson and Messrs. Torsten Jacob (Germany), Luc Lapène (France) and Alessandro Ghilari (Italy) as Vice-Chairpersons. The meeting agreed on key actions for the upcoming year and on ways to further enhance effectiveness and efficiency in EASPG activities, as well to optimize ICAO's support to States both at regional and national levels.
On the side of the EASPG, the Regional Office organized a workshop on innovation, during which regulators presented their plans and actions to support innovation and industry representatives showcased recent technological improvements, including with respect to green innovation .
The meeting was attended by 95 participants from 37 States, 7 international organizations and 2 industry representatives. The EASPG/5 meeting will take place in Paris from 28 to 30 November 2023.
