The joint ICAO EUR and APAC Search and Rescue (SAR) workshop and autonomous distress tracking (ADT) and location of aircraft in distress repository (LADR) exercises took place from 2 to 4 October, 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, hosted by the civil aviation authority of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by about 100 participants from 37 States. It provided a valuable opportunity to review the status of readiness for the ADT and LADR implementation, identify remaining gaps and areas for potential improvement, and contributed to the enhancement of safety and States' search and rescue capabilities. The outcomes of the meeting will be reported to the upcoming EASPG meeting and will be followed up through the work of the EUR and APAC SAR related contributory bodies.
