In the framework of ICAO UZB COSPA project, ICAO Safety culture workshop was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on 15-17 October 2024, hosted by the Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and supported by Boeing.

68 participants from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting. Speakers from France DGAC, Georgian CAA , Air Astana, Airbus, Boeing, Eurocontrol, IATA, ICAO Headquarters and IFALPA have contributed to the discussions.

Workshop covered, inter alia, issues of high strategic level (leadership styles and the connection with the organization's safety culture, safety policy and management commitment, etc.) as well as safety management expect level (practical aspects for implementation of safety reporting: role of regulators, industry, what are practical tools to simplify reporting, reporting forms, link between reporting systems of the industry and the State, protection of safety data and safety information, cooperation mechanisms established between civil aviation and juridical authorities etc).
