The Universal Security Audit Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA) seminar was held in the ICAO EUR/NAT office in Paris from 30 May to 2 June 2022. The seminar was attended by 20 participants from 13 States.
The objective of the seminar was to familiarize the participants with the ICAO Universal Security Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA) and with the methodology and tools used by ICAO for the preparation, conduct and reporting of USAP-CMA activities.
The workshop covered such topics as USAP-CMA tools and processes, the State's Aviation Security Oversight System, auditing Annex 17 Standards and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) development.
Participants had the opportunity to share their experiences with colleagues from other States. The seminar enabled fruitful and interactive discussions, especially thanks to practical exercises. One of them was on the identification of interrelationships between Annex 17 Standards, Critical Elements and Protocol Questions. Another exercise allowed participants to practice the development of a CAP for their States using the knowledge and guidance received at the seminar.
Participants in this seminar will be better able to assist their States throughout the various phases of USAP-CMA activities.
