Assembly Resolution A40-18 requests the ICAO Council to continue to explore the feasibility of a long-term global aspirational goal for international aviation CO2 emissions reductions (LTAG).
The LTAG-GLADs aimed to raise awareness and exchange input and views of Member States to facilitate the ICAO work on LTAG, with the following two objectives:
- Raise awareness on the ICAO work on the feasibility of a long-term global aspirational goal for international aviation CO2 emissions reductions.
- Discuss the important considerations in ICAO’s further work on LTAG.
The ICAO Global Aviation Dialogues (GLADs) on LTAG were held in May 2021 in a series of five regional events. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic each event was held virtually over two days.
While each regional LTAG-GLADs is open to representatives from all ICAO Member States and accredited international organizations, representatives of Member States are strongly encouraged to participate in the specific event of their region.
