ICAO environmental tools
ICAO improved its
Carbon Emissions Calculator,
Green Meetings Calculator and
Fuel Savings Estimation Tool by updating the tools’ graphic interfaces, databases and methodologies, and ensuring the use of high-quality industry data. Factors such as aircraft type, routing and payload were also integrated into the tools.
The
Environmental Benefits Tool, which helps States to assess the impact of CO2 mitigation measures under the ICAO State Action Plan initiative, and the
Aviation Environmental System, developed under an ICAO assistance project funded by the European Union, were continuously maintained to ensure that information of the highest quality remained available.
After being approved by the ICAO Council, the latest version of the ICAO CO2 Estimation and Reporting Tool and its supporting documentation were made available on the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) website in 2021.
