Self-Paced Training

Purchase

How can I find the price for a self‐paced course?

Each course price is indicated on the course page at ICAO Store.


How can I get a discount price for CAA?

CAA Personnel receives a 25% discount. To obtain the CAA Personnel price, please email etraining@icao.int to validate your identity and receive a discount code.


Do you have any other special prices?

For special occasions, we offer special discounts. Please check our email newsletters or the ICAO Store homepage.

Refund

When can I request a refund?

Refunds for the self-paced courses can only be issued if you only:

  • have requested it within 7 days of purchase for any self‐paced online course;
  • have not completed more than 10% of the course content;
  • have not completed (or attempted to complete) any tests; and
  • have not received a Certificate of Achievement or Statement of Participation (digital or physical) on the course

Please note an administration fee of 30$ USD will be deducted.

Course Access

How long do I have access to my course?

The online course access is limited to 3 months, starting from the registration date.


How can I access the course?

Once you are enrolled in the course, you will receive an auto-generated email message from our Learning Management System (LMS) (https://icao.myabsorb.com/) regarding your ID and temporary password.


Why have I not received any confirmation emails from ICAO?

Please check your email junk folder if you have not received an auto-generated email message from our LMS.


How can I change my email address or name on my Profile on LMS?

You cannot change your name or email address once enrolled in the course on LMS. Please get in touch with etraining@icao.int

Course Content on LMS

Will I have a digital copy of the training material?

Downloading the course material for the self-paced courses are not available.


Why don't I see any content on my browser?

Please make sure to use one of the up‐to‐date browsers: Chrome / Firefox/Safari/Microsoft Edge.


If I have exhausted all the 3 initial attempts, what are my options in order to retake the exam?

If you want to retake the exam, you can repurchase the course at 50% off the regular price. This discount is available only within 6 months from the course expiration date in the same course you failed. Please contact etraining@icao.int


Why does the module not display as "Complete" although I finished the module?

Please make sure you view and click all the slides in Menu using the Next button from the beginning to the end

Course Access Extension

I forgot my password on LMS. What should I do?

You can re-set your password at https://icao.myabsorb.com using your email as a Username, click Forgot password.


My account on LMS has been blocked after several unsuccessful attempts.

Please try to reset your password after 15 minutes and click Forgot password.


Is it possible to have the course access extension after the course access is expired?

You can request course access extension only for the following cases with proof:

  • Natural disasters (flooding/ earthquakes etc.),
  • Long terms or serious medical treatment, surgery, or disease,
  • Accidents (car accidents etc.),
  • Any force Majeure (War etc.)

Other than that, no course access extension is allowed based on any other personal reasons. Any other additional exceptions will be submitted to Chief of Training for approval.


If I want to re-enroll in the course after expiration, what are my options?

If you want to re-enroll in the course after expiration, you can repurchase the same course at 50% off the regular price. This discount is available only within 6 months from the course expiration date.

Final Exam

How do I check my transcript?

You have access to Transcript on Menu on the top right side of the screen on the homepage of LMS.


Can I have more attempts after 3 attempts of failure?

You have 3 attempts only, and no more attempts are granted.

Certificate

How long do I have access to download my certificate (s)?

You can download your certificate on our LMS for one (1) year. Certificates could be generated and sent only within one year from the course completion date.


How can I receive a certificate of the course completion?

You will only receive a certificate upon successfully completing the course and final exam.


I passed the exam but certificate is not available.

You will have access to the certificate when you finish the course evaluation.


What is the passing grade to receive a certificate?

You are required to receive 80% or more.


How can I download my certificate if I completed my course successfully?

You have access to the Transcript to download your certificate in the menu on the top right side of the screen on the homepage of LMS.


Can I only take the Final Exam without purchasing a course?

No, you must complete the course before taking the final exam.


Is it possible to change my name on the certificate?

No, if your name needs to be modified, you should contact us before taking the final exam.

Pre-requisite online courses

What is the timeframe for completing the self-paced online course, which serves as a prerequisite before attending a classroom session or enrolling in subsequent training phases?

In order to enroll in subsequent training phases, it is mandatory to complete the online course within 6 months prior to attending the next training phases.

Registering for a course

How do I register for a course?

Use filters on the Aviation Training and Education Directory to select the course of interest.

Click on the “Registration” button in the Upcoming Sessions section.

If you already have an account, click in “Log in here”.

If you don’t have an account, complete the online form and click on “Submit Registration Request”.


How do I know if there is a prerequisite?

Pre-requisites are listed on the course page, under the “Entry Requirements” section.


What if registration is full, or the course dates are not convenient for me?

Click on “Express your interest here” to be notified when a new session becomes available.

Paying for a course

Where do I find the course price?

The course price is listed adjacent to the “Registration” button.

Am I eligible for a discount?

If the course is hosted by ICAO, you will see a rate for Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Employees below the regular price.

Attending a course

Are there rules regarding attendance?

Full attendance in classroom and virtual classroom courses is strongly advised.


Are there requirements for successfully completing a course?

A course is successfully completed if a participant has attended the course, and passed the Mastery Tests (80%).


Do I receive a certificate at the end of the course?

You will receive a certificate of successful completion or a certificate of attendance.

Is there a focal point for each course?

Yes. You will be introduced to a course focal point upon registration, who will address any concerns that may arise.
