On 30 September, ICAO and the Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC) agreed, through a special Letter of Intent, to consolidate and extend their collaborative activities as specifically related to the implementation of ICAO Information Technology (IT) systems.
The ICAO/CAUC relationship in this endeavour was first established on a formal basis through a December 2011 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Under the new Letter of Intent, the two parties will seek to further identify and implement activities covered under this MOU, including:
• Regional events.
• Capacity-building activities.
• Research.
• Product development (including new publications).
• Software development.
• Database maintenance.
The modalities and working arrangements surrounding each of these areas and initiatives will be resolved in writing on a case-by-case basis.
