The aviation sector plays a key role in advancing 15 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The NGAP Programme, in particular, makes a direct contribution to at least five of these key goals:
SDG 4 – Quality Education by promoting accessible, inclusive, and high-quality education in aviation, while providing clear pathways for youth to pursue careers in the sector.
SDG 5 – Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by advancing gender balance and empowering women within the aviation sector.
SDG 8 – Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all: by creating quality job opportunities for youth in aviation, fostering sustainable economic growth.
SDG 9 – Preparing the workforce to meet challenges posed by evolving technologies and infrastructure needs.
SDG 10 – Reduce inequality within and among countries by ensuring equal and inclusive access to aviation careers and development opportunities globally.
SDG 13 – Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts by empowering youth to lead green innovations in aviation, accelerating the industry's transition to a zero-emissions future.
