The Sixth ICAO Air Services Negotiation Conference was held from 9 to 13 December 2013 in Durban, South Africa. It attracted a record‑breaking 400 delegates from 73 States/territories and 6 international organizations. Some 500 formal and informal bilateral meetings were held, leading to the signing and initialling of over 500 bilateral air services agreements and arrangements.
Through its seminar session, the event provided a forum for exchanging views on topical issues in air transport, as well as a platform to foster dialogue and cooperation between States and their competition authorities in dealing with aviation-related competition issues. The seminar session was organized based on a recommendation by ATConf/6.
ICAO continued to update the World Air Services Agreements (WASA) database (Doc 9511). WASA is now an online product with expanding coverage, including the text of bilateral air services agreements and search capabilities by specific keywords. The database provides access to over 3 000 agreements and amendments.
