Translation, Interpretation and Publication Statistics
In Languages and Publications (LP), 11.59 million words were translated, compared to a budgeted capacity of 8.6 million. Internal staff handled 47.85 per cent of translation workload and 52.15 per cent was outsourced. Interpretation was provided for 1 024 sittings, compared to 1 334 sittings in 2016, an Assembly year with a significantly higher number of meetings. There were 39 new saleable publications and new editions issued in 2017. Additionally, three new non-saleable documents were published and translated in all ICAO languages.
