Conflicts of interest in civil aviation
The 39th Session of the ICAO Assembly adopted Resolution A39-8 which urges States to establish a framework on conflicts of interest (COI) that applies to civil aviation activities. Its objective is to promote awareness of potential conflicts of interest in civil aviation and to encourage States to take measures to avoid or mitigate risks from COI to aviation safety and security. The Assembly Resolution also responds to the expressed need to improve the effectiveness of existing COI frameworks through fostering a COI-avoidance culture and increased regulation.
